With two story lines overlapping and intertwining, Sons of Anarchy tells the story of Jax Teller and while following the motor cycle club that he is involved with, Sons of Anarchy Motor Cycle Club Redwood Original (SAMCRO). Family drama and issues are at the heart of the show just as gun running and rivalries with opposing gangs fuel the violence of the characters. The show watches Jax through his adult life as he grows and deals with the changes that come with partaking in the activities that the club does, including the deaths of loved ones, serious injuries, and jail time. As mechanics at Teller-Morrow, the members of the club hide the illeagal dealings with honest work in an attempt to keep the public of Charming happy, as well as keep the law enforcements at bay as much as possible.

One of the First Nine Members, Vice President 1991-1993, President seasons 1-4. Married to Gemma Teller-Morrow, after helping to kill John, her first husband. Step-father to Jax Teller, step-grandfather to his two sons. Led SAMCRO to darker dealings, including gunrunning and drug dealing with the cartel, to many people's dissatisfaction.Excuminacted from the club.
Harry 'Opie' Winston

Son of Piney and Mary Winston, best friend of Jax. Served 5 years at a state penitentiary for botched arson after another club member ratted him out. Married twice, first to Donna and then to Lyla, has two kids with Donna and a step son by Lyla. The club is the only family that he knows, as is father was a member of the First Nine. He attempts to distance himself from the club many times, but always fails.
Juan Carlos 'Juice' Ortiz

Serves as SAMCRO's hacker and helps to keep technology up to date, also in charge of the club's surveillance, and manages the intelligence and communication aspects of the MC. He is seen as somewhat simple minded by other members of the club so he is often given menial jobs and often made fun of by members which includes harmless, and some harmful, pranks.
Jackson 'Jax' Teller

Son of Gemma and John Teller. Vice President of Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original seasons 1-4, President seasons 5-7. Works as a mechanic at Teller-Morrow Automotive Repair. Has served time for smuggling and gunrunning. Married and divorced Wendy Case, who is the mother of his first son Abel. Married Tara Knowles who is the mother of his second son, Thomas.

Doctor at St. Thomas Hospital
Born and rasied in Charming. Her and Jax were high school sweethearts. She was arrested at least three times because of him before leaving town when she was 18 in an attempt to get away from the influence of the club. She went to medical school and then accepted a job at St. Thomas in Charming. She is the mother of Thomas Teller II and the step mother of Abel Teller.
Alexander 'Tig' Trager
Sergeant at Arms/Vice President
Often seen as the club's most violent member, he was a loyal S@A under Clay's Presidency, doing whatever was asked of him. His callous demeanor often hides his true sensitivity and loyal nature. His sensitivity is likely the result of losing the woman he loved when he laid his bike down on the highway and she slid in front of oncoming traffic. He also suffers from pediophobia, the fear of dolls.

Piermont 'Piney' Winston
Vice President
Co-Founder of Sons of Anarchy Motercycle Club with John Teller, and severed as Vice President under John from 1967-1991. One of the First Nine Members. Club's oldest and senior advisor, should have been President after John's death, but becasue of his ailing health, Clay stepped in. Piney overall disagreed with most of the ways that Clay took the club. Father of Opie, grandfather of Kenny and Ellie, step-grandfather of Piper.

A native of Charming, served in the United States Army during the Iraq War. A surprisingly intense fighter, he was the Junior Lightweight Champion of the Army-Navy boxing competition. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Charming and began prospecting for SAMCRO and worked as a mechanic at Teller-Morrow. He was not initiated into the club during his life, however he was burried in a kutte with a full patch.

Filip 'Chibs' Telford

Served as both Vice President and Sergeat at Arms under Jax's Presidency. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, he served with the British Army as a medic, and was a member of the True IRA and SAMBEL, before transfering to SAMCRO. He is married, but estranged from Fiona, with a daughter named Kerrianne, who were both taken from him by Jimmy O'Phelan.
Bobby 'Elvis' Munson
Secretary/Vice President
Served as Secretary under Clay's Presidency. He was Vice President for one season under Jax before resigning because of his discontent with the club's actions under the new President. An avid Elvis impersonator, which is one of his major incomes, other than his dealings with the club. Fiercly loyal to the club and the ideals tht it was founded on, and willing to leave the club when he feels they are not being upheld.

Otto 'Big Otto' Delaney

Member of SAMCRO, but incarcerated. He was sent to the Stockton State Prison in the mid 1990's. His original sentence was only six years, but deeds he did while in prison for the club led to longer sentences like breaking a man's collar bone and shiving someone for being a rat. He remains in prison for the entire duration of the show, while he continues to do the club's bidding. Out of all the member's Otto has suffered the most at the hands of the club.
