Almost exclusively a white club, with only one current exception in SAMCRO, and a few others scattered throughout the other chapters of SOA. Upon its establishment, in 1967, by John Teller and Piney Winston, who served together in Vietnam, there were a variety of rules established that were meant to ensure the stability of the club and its progression. One of these rules included that there were to be no members of any race except that of the founders, white. They were exceptionally strict on allowing African Americans into the club and sometimes other races, though there were exceptions throughout the decades. During the time of the show, there is one member who is Puerto Rican, but finds out that his father, whom he never knew, was African American. In the last season of the show, the club inducts its first African American member. One of the First 9 members of SOA was hispanic, however this only occured as to provide a liason between SOA and the Mayans.

M a y a n s :
The Mayans are a motorcycle club that control the northern part of California and all of Nevada, excluding Las Vegas. The President of heir Oakland Chapter, the closest to SAMCRO, is Marcus Alvarez. All of their members are Hispanic, and most likely Mexican. They command two heroin factories near Oakland and are heavily involved in prostitution. At times they are one of SAMCRO’s biggest enemy and at other times they are one of their most important allies. Their kuttes bear a Mayan tribal symbol and the phrase “Los Asesinos de Dios” which means Assassins of God.
G r i m B a s t a r d s :
The Grim Bastards are based out of Lodi, California, not too far from Charming, where SAMCRO is based out of. Their patch is a laughing skull with its fist in the air, colored in orange and black. This club consists of strictly African American members throughout the show. They are, a majority of the time, allied with SAMCRO for deals with other clubs and gangs. The president of the Lodi chapter is T.O. Cross, he remains president there until he is inducted into SAMCRO during the final episodes of the show.
UP Roxx
O n e - N i n e r s :
The One-Niners are a street gang, rather than a motorcycle club. They are commonly known as the 9er's and are based out of Oakland, Los Angeles, and possibly many other cities. Throughout the show they go through quite a few presidents, as they are a gang known for jumping to violence before the rest. There members are strictly African American and their color is purple, many of the members are seen only wearing purple and nothing else. They mostly deal heroin and they purchase their weapons from the Sons of Anarchy and the Russian Mafia. They are under the supervision of the drug kingpin, Damien Pope until he is replaced by August Marks.

The Byz-Lats, like the One-Niners, are not a motorcycle club, but a street gang. They are led by Nero, who begins to form a friendship with Jax, and thus the gang and club begin to create a working relationship. They are based out of a town near Charming and are able to do most of their business near by. They are comprised mainly of Hispanic members.

The Lin Triad is an organized Chinese crime syndicate based out of San Francisco and led by Henry Lin. They run a prostitution and counterfeiting ring while laundering their money through Chinese restaurants in surrounding towns. An ally of the Sons of Anarchy ran their books for a time and skimmed money from them, eventually causing them to be an enemy of the Sons. The two organization reach out to each other, though, and when needed they work together.

T h e N o r d i c s :
The Nordics, commonly known as the Nords, are a white supremacist group ran by Ernest Darby. They are mainly involved in producing and running meth and run a variety of meth labs in the surrounding areas of Lodi. They begin to attempt to break their sales into Charming, much to the displeasure of the Sons. This effectively makes the two organizations enemies and this continues on.
